It’s essential to love what you do

                                  and do what you love.

11th Grade Physics

APS 2018 - 2019 (Monterrey - México)

Huasteca Trip

I had the amazing experience to share this time with my students, during which they were allowed to explore how forces interact with objects and how energy is transformed from potential to kinetic to heat.

As part of the project students were requested to use the pictures and present the free body diagrams indicating forces acting on the objects and answering questions regarding energy.

I'm very grateful with the administrators of the school who allowed me to plan this trip, I've planned this lesson plan 4 years ago however administrators from the other schools had not allowed it.

7th & 8th Grade Science at Colegio Menor Samborondon 2017 - 2018 (Ecuador)

One of my objectives as a teacher is to inspire students to go beyond expectations, explore new possibilities and reach their full potential, here are some evidences of their projects.

One of my goals was also to help students learn through their passions so students were able to incorporate music into our science program.

8th grade students demonstrated a lot of passion throughout their Volcanic eruption projects. 7th grade students also went beyond expectations while learning about electricity by building Voltaire's coin batteries and a Tesla coil.

Physics Projects

ASFM 2016 - 2017 (México)

As part of a physics project, the 9th grade students were requested to build a ballistics device, I was invited to supervice the construction process and provide input on ways to improve the functionality of the devices.

In addition I was able to take my powertools to help students work faster and learn new things.

Out of the classroom and into real life application

ASFM 2016 - 2017 (México)

Special Educational Services mat is a class ASFM provides for students who present a significant gap in their math knowledge compared to their grade level. In this class we evaluate our student’s previous knowledge concerning different topics, and identify the topics they need to revisit in order to succeed in their regular math class.

While working with students some of them were working or ratios and proportions and others on triangle properties, so I decided to make an activity combining these topics. Students were requested to measure the school’s soccer field, and make a similar soccer field in a smaller grass section.

Students took measurements of the soccer field and the grass section, used ratios and proportions to define the new measurements of the new field and then use properties of right triangles to create half a soccer field.

Teachers Hiking Club

ASFM 2016 - 2017 (México)

In an effort to get to know more of the teachers, working towards a more Family like environment and improving communication among Elementary, middle school and high school, the ASFM Hiking Club was created. The ASFM Hiking Club organizes trips to local mountains, Rappel Classes, Hiking and Bike Riding activities for teachers in all levels.  This has slowly become a success and I hope we will continue getting more people involved.
