Giving back to the society is an excellent way to use your time. Here are some of the activities I’ve participated or helped with.

When the time is right and the opportunity allows it, it’s always good to participate in religious groups. We often visit a village or small community and stay there for a couple of days shearing God’s love with the community and providing support to the community.

After my High School graduation, I was contacted by an organization called Youth Front, where I was invited to participate as a translator the main focus was to help several high school student groups from Kansas City Missouri that were coming to build house in a community near Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. I enjoyed this activity very much and I participated with them 2 consecutive summers.

Every now and then, I'm invited to participate in church activities called “brigadas”, which consist of finding a group of doctors, dentist and other public servers to work with kids who volunteer to share their time with the community. Public servers offer free consults, while the rest of the crew participate with the kids, as well as cooking or cleaning the area. What I enjoy of these activities is the opportunity to meet new people who like to share their time in benefit of the community.

Lately ASFM is participating in an activity called “Un TECHO para mi país”, which is a large organization that is expanding world wide. The idea is to sponsor houses for people in need where students raise money to buy materials and build houses. Students and other members of the organization go to the community and build the homes for the community.  This activity reminds me of my time in Youth Front.
